It's no secret that Nikola Hillebrand is one of the most interesting young singers on the opera and concert scene. Her ethereal yet richly coloured and substantial soprano paired with flawless diction and touching interpretation is tailor-made for Mozart. This makes her debut all the more exciting as Pamina in Mozart's Magic Flute at the Opéra National de Paris in a production directed by Robert Carsen.
In his production, Robert Carsen sees Sarastro and the Queen of the Night as allies who lead the young Tamino and Pamina on the path of virtue. An interpretation that is reflected in an elegant, highly poetic production in which love and wisdom triumph in the end.
