NEW under General Management: CHRISTIANE KARG

Internationally acclaimed for her Mozart, Mahler and Strauss interpretations, soprano Christiane Karg has been delighting critics and audiences alike for years. In the course of her career, the German soprano native from Feuchtwangen has appeared at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Lyric Opera in Chicago, the Bavarian, Vienna and Hamburg State Operas and La Scala in Milan. At the Salzburg Festival, she was most recently seen as Pamina in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, with which she is also making her house debut at the Opéra National de Paris in these very days.

Christiane Karg is also in demand internationally for the major concert roles, her musical partners to date including conductors such as Ivor Bolton, Herbert Blomstedt, Riccardo Chailly, Christoph Eschenbach, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, Iván Fischer, Daniel Harding, Manfred Honeck, Mariss Jansons, Fabio Luisi, Marek Janowski, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Kirill Petrenko and Christian Thielemann.

She is also a distinguished recitalist and regularly appears at the Schubertiade in Hohenems/Schwarzenberg, at London’s Wigmore Hall (where she was Artist in Residence in 2019/2020) and many other prestigious venues such as the Vienna Musikverein, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Pierre Boulez Saal Berlin and the Salzburg Festival. As this year’s Artist in Residence at Musikverein für Steiermark in Graz Christiane Karg will give a recital accompanied by harpist Anneleen Lenaerts and presenting selected lieder by Richard Strauss, before making her highly awaited debut as Rosalinde in a concert performance of Johann Strauss' Die Fledermaus.

In addition to her numerous engagements and as Artistic Director of the festival KunstKlang, Christiane Karg conceives her own concert series in her hometown Feuchtwangen and is very committed to her project "be part of it! - Musik für Alle" to promote music education for children and young people.
