IDA ALDRIAN | "Handel’s Factory" at the Hamburg State Opera

As a permanent member of the ensemble at the Hamburg State Opera, Ida Aldrian has appeared in a wide variety of roles in recent seasons, including Dorabella in Herbert Fritsch's new production of Mozart's Cosi fan tutte and Polina in Tchaikovsky's Queen of Spades. As part of Adriana Altaras' first work directing at the Hamburg State Opera, the Austrian mezzo-soprano can now be experienced together with her ensemble colleagues in a stage play entitled Händel's Factory, musically arranged by Johannes Harneit and based on texts by Christoph Klimke - a search for traces around (creative) crisis and the re-release of creativity, freely adapted from Stefan Zweig's story "Georg Friedrich Händel's Resurrection". In Händel's Factory, too, voices from the past and the present intermingle on the traces of genius and despair, of love and loss.

In addition, Ida Aldrian will also be seen at her Hamburg home in the coming months as Maddalena in Verdi's Rigoletto, as Hansel in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel and, for the first time, as Suzuki in Puccini's Madama Butterfly.
