DAVID STEFFENS debuts with the NHK Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo under Fabio Luisi

David Steffens has previously performed the solo part of the "Pater Profundus" in Mahler's Eighth Symphony with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal under Kent Nagano, with the NDR Radiophilharmonie Orchestra under Ingo Metzmacher, and the Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España under David Afkham. On 16 and 17 December, he now makes his debut in the same part with the NHK Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo under the direction of Fabio Luisi, with whom David Steffens has already worked in Copenhagen in Schönberg's monumental Gurrelieder.

Back in Europe, David Steffens will make his operatic debut as King Marke in a new production of Tristan und Isolde in Lille, conducted by Cornelius Meister, before appearing for the first time at the Bregenz Festival this summer as Kaspar in Weber's Der Freischütz.
