The Austrian Eggner Trio is one of the most renowned piano trios of our times. Founded in 1997 by the three brothers Georg (violin), Florian (cello) and Christoph Eggner (piano), the ensemble regularly appears at leading concert halls and festivals. Acclaimed for its artistic curiosity and open-mindedness and celebrated in particular for its Schubert interpretations, the Trio has always championed new music as well, developing intriguing programme concepts. Thus, they have not only presented a recording of the complete piano trios of Werner Pirchner, but have recently also conceived an evening with the Austrian actor Tobias Moretti, to be premiered this coming May at Vienna’s MuTh and also featuring works by Pirchner.
Before that, however, the Eggner Trio will travel to São Paulo for concert and masterclass, to perform afterwards at London’s Wigmore Hall again on October 16, where they have been a popular and acclaimed guest for many years. Finally, on October 27, the Trio opens the Jeunesse Musicales’ chamber music cycle in Vienna.
We wish the three brothers a successful start to the season and look forward to many further wonderful concert moments with this special piano trio!
