SABINE DEVIEILHE sings Queen of the Night at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence

Sabine Devieilhe is regarded worldwide as one of the outstanding Mozart sopranos of her generation. With her exceptional stylistic elegance, technical precision and unmistakable timbre, the French artist has been delighting audiences and critics alike for years on the world’s most prestigious opera stages. In the summer of 2026, she will appear at the renowned Festival d’Aix-en-Provence in one of Mozart’s most iconic roles: the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute.

The premiere of this new production will take place at the Théâtre de l’Archevêché, the festival’s historic main venue, which is internationally regarded as one of the most important centres for the celebration of Mozart’s legacy. The production is directed by Clément Cogitore, with Leonardo García Alarcón conducting. Joining Sabine Devieilhe on stage will be, amongst others, Mauro Peter as Tamino and Ying Fang as Pamina.

The role of the Queen of the Night is one of the most demanding parts in the coloratura soprano repertoire. Her famous arias demand the highest level of virtuosity, exceptional precision and, at the same time, great dramatic expressiveness. These are qualities that Sabine Devieilhe has combined with particular mastery for many years, making her one of the most sought-after performers of this repertoire.
