SABINE DEVIEILHE at the Salzburg Festival

Sabine Devieilhe, a lyric coloratura soprano who combines a pure, sweet timbre and dazzling virtuosity returns to the Salzburg Festival with Mozart Great Mass in c-minor, accompanied by the Ensemble Pygmalion under the baton of Raphaël Pichon as well as with some of the most difficult Mozart Arias together with the Mozarteum Orchestra under the baton of Ivor Bolton.

Sabine Devieilhe’s interpretations are typified by beauty of tone, a penetrating sense of drama and a scrupulous respect for the score and the text. Even in the dizzying heights of arias such as „Popoli di Tessaglia“ or „Vorrei spiegarvi, oh Dio!“, her voice remains crystal-clear and beautiful. Cheerful yet with dynamic tension, the coloraturas pearl from her lips.
