NEW Artist for General Management: JULIAN PRÉGARDIEN

Machreich Artists is delighted to take on the general management of Julian Prégardien, one of the most exciting young tenors active on stage today.

Julian Prégardien is not only an outstanding Evangelist, but also an excellent song recitalist and singer-actor on the opera stage, who most recently won acclaim as Narraboth in the new production of Richard Strauss’ Salome at the Salzburg Festival and as Tamino in the new Zauberflöte at Berlin’s State Opera Unter den Linden.

As a recitalist, it is important to him to demonstrate that there is more to song recitals than the classical, frontal format. He is widely considered a singer with a strong dramaturgical bent who frequently presents new chamber music projects – artistic standstill of any kind is out of the question for him. This season, he shares the stage with pianists such as Kristian Bezuidenhout, Lars Vogt, Martin Helmchen and Eric le Sage, among others. His most recent album Dichterliebe (Alpha Classics) won the Quarterly Award of the German Record Critics’ Association.

Julian Prégardien makde his debut last week with the Cleveland Orchestra, performing Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang under the baton of Franz Welser-Möst; next month he will be heard as the Evangelist in Bach’s Passions at Europe’s most prestigious concert halls when he tours with the Collegium Vocale Ghent and Philippe Herreweghe.

We look forward to a beautiful collaboration!
