LENA BELKINA | NEW under General Management

Ever since her international breakthrough with the title role in Rossini's La Cenerentola in the film version produced by Rada Film and the Italian RAI, the Ukrainian mezzo-soprano has made a name for herself at the major opera companies worldwide, including venues such as the New National Theatre in Tokyo, the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro.

Her general devotion to works of the Italian bel canto - and Rossini in particular - is vividly documented in her first solo album "Dolci Momenti" with the Munich Radio Orchestra under Alessandro De Marchi and released by Sony Classical, with her further repertoire also comprising the more dramatic lyrical repertoire of the 19th century as vividly demonstrated by her interpretation of Carmen at the Bregenz Festival or Tchaikovsky's The Maid of Orléans at the Theater an der Wien.

As a passionate Lied singer, Lena Belkina dedicates her upcoming fourth solo album to the Slavic repertoire and, in particular, to the revival of the authentic Ukrainian song tradition which is very close to her heart not only because of current events. "Passion for Ukraine", which will feature works by lesser-known composers such as Gregory Alchevskiy, Kyrylo Stetsenko and Mykhailo Zherbin, will be released in late Autumn by the label Solo Musica.
