After her acclaimed debut as Pilgrim in the Cologne premiere of Kaija Saariaho's L'amour de loin, Katrin Wundsam returns to one of her core roles as Hänsel in Engelbert Humperdinck's timeless classic Hansel and Gretel as part of a new production staged by Béatrice Lachaussée and conducted by François-Xavier Roth. The production is enriched with animations by Grégoire Pont, a much sought-after French llustrator, and Dominique Wiesbauer's set and costumes.
On this occasion, Katrin Wundsam returns to one of her core roles with which she also starred in Achim Freyer's new production at the Berlin State Opera in 2018. Her Hänsel is also documented in a recording released by the label Pentatone, with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester under Marek Janowski.
