FLORIAN BOESCH | With Franui, Britten and Song Recitals into the Summer

In the next few weeks, Florian Boesch can be heard in a series of exceptional concert projects across Austria, France and Great Britain. Moving between the art song tradition, contemporary festival concepts and large-scale concert works, the singer once again demonstrates his remarkable stylistic versatility.

The Vienna Konzerthaus festival “Gemischter Satz” combines music, literature, visual art and Viennese wine culture in an interdisciplinary concept that extends throughout all the halls of the Konzerthaus. Taking place for the 10th time over the Pentecost weekend, the festival once again features Florian Boesch together with artists including the Musicbanda Franui and the Javus Quartet on Saturday, 23 May, with concerts throughout the venue as well as the festival’s grand finale.

Florian Boesch and Franui have shared a close musical friendship for many years, and in the coming months they will once again appear together on various stages throughout Austria. Together they bridge the gap between the classical song tradition and new sonic worlds. At the heart of the collaboration is Die schöne Müllerin by Franz Schubert in an extraordinary arrangement for Franui’s distinctive instrumentation (released on CD in November 2025). Following a performance at the Klagenfurt Festival at Konzerthaus Klagenfurt on 31 May, the joint concert tour continues to the Attergauer Kultursommer on 10 July and the Hoch Kultur Festival Innervillgraten on 15 August.

In between, on 12 June, Florian Boesch will appear at the Philharmonie de Paris under the direction of Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla in one of the most significant choral works of the 20th century: War Requiem by Benjamin Britten.

Then, on 25 June, together with pianist and song accompanist Andreas Fröschl, he will inaugurate the new Viennese series “Lieber•Lied” at the Ehrbar Hall with the program “Allem wohnt ein Zauber inne” (“There Is Magic in Everything”), featuring Lieder by Johannes Brahms and Robert Schumann.

On 28 June, Florian Boesch returns for another Lied recital at London’s renowned Wigmore Hall, where he has remained a regular presence in the song recital program even after his tenure as Artist in Residence. Together with Malcolm Martineau, he will perform works by Carl Loewe and Gustav Mahler, continuing his long-standing international career as a recital artist.
