ELEANOR LYONS Sings Giuseppe Verdi‘s Messa da Requiem in Ghent and Antwerp

Before appearing as Gretchen in a staged version of Schumann’s Szenen aus Goethes Faust at the Flemish Opera towards the end of this season, the Australian soprano Eleanor Lyons sings two performances of Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem in Ghent and Antwerp. The Orchestra of the Flemish Opera is conducted by its new music director, Alejo Pérez. Eleanor Lyons was previously heard as the soloist in this work in Antwerp in 2018, when she joined the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra and Collegium Vocale Gent under the baton of Philippe Herreweghe. On November 14 she will also give a solo song recital in Antwerp featuring selected works by Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, Delius, Glière and others.
