After his recent successful role debut as Ochs auf Lerchenau at the Chemnitz Theatre, the rising young bass expands his repertoire by another major role: he will be heard on eight evenings at the Opéra National du Rhin in the role of Kaspar in Carl Maria von Weber’s Der Freischütz. In their first production in France, the directors’ team of Sergio Morabito and Jossi Wieler questions the ideological background of a work widely considered the birth of romantic German opera. Patrick Lange conducts the Orchestre symphonique de Mulhouse, making his debut at the Opéra National du Rhin in this production.
